This past weekend I was really drawn to industrial looking items– lots of metal and steel. I also found myself gravitating towards neutrals and very simplistic design.
I fell in love with this print of California, highlighting LA, that I saw at my friend Meg’s house. Because I am moving to San Francisco in two weeks, I am especially into anything that reminds me of LA. I also loved how simple yet really beautiful the print is. I was so surprised and delighted when two days later my friend Kristen gave me the same print as a “going away” gift. She had seen me gushing over it at Meg’s and then she bought it for me, at Sugar Paper!! I’m so lucky!
The ram’s head was a nice surprise in the dressing rooms at “All Saints.” I think it would be cool as a coat hanger in a house. As previously mentioned (in almost every post that I write), I love anything having to do with nature and animals. I love how rugged this piece felt. It went really well with the iron doors that they have in the dressing rooms.
Lastly, I was inspired by this gorgeous “chandelier.” This light fixture hangs above the bar at my favorite restaurant, Gjelina, in Venice CA. I love the filament light bulbs! There is something so cool about this kind of lighting. I always notice it when I eat there, but this time we were sitting right next to it at the bar, so I was able to get a great shot.
