After helping brides, for years, select the perfect robe combinations for their weddings, I was thrilled to be picking out robes for my own big day. While I usually gravitate towards darker colors, when it came time for me to choose, I felt that the pastels worked perfectly for my spring Wine-Country wedding. Spending the day getting ready in beautiful, comfy, robes, with friends that I’ve had since childhood, was the ideal way to spend the hours leading up to the wedding. Everyone was so comfortable and relaxed around me, that I felt completely calm and was able to fully enjoy the pre-wedding fun.

Whit and I were married at the Rose Hall Great House in Montego Bay, Jamaica in February of 2013 (the best time to escape a Chicago winter!)  95 of our friends and family joined us in Jamaica for the most memorable, fun-filled weekend.  When Whit and I were deciding on gifts for our bridal party we wanted to give them all really special gifts after all they were doing for us!  Doie Lounge bridesmaid robes were perfect.  I really had never seen anything like them, and I can’t even describe how comfy they are (I wear mine EVERY SINGLE DAY when I am getting ready, my husband jokes that I live in it, and he’s pretty much telling the truth!)

My bridesmaids absolutely loved these robes, and it was so fun to get ready in the bridesmaid robes all together.  My little sister called me last week and said thank you again for the robe as she uses it all the time (in fact she told one of her good friends to use Doie Lounge for her bridesmaid robes). It makes me so happy that it is something that the girls can wear all the time and think of our awesome wedding weekend- truly a gift that keeps on giving.

Sara was an amazing vendor to work with…she responds quickly to emails, offers great suggestions and I received the bridesmaid robes extremely quickly- I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Sara and Doie Lounge– just the best!

Special Day

I got ready at the Four Seasons in San Francisco with my bridal party the morning of the wedding. Each bridesmaid was surprised with a robe upon entry into the suite. What a fun and unique way it was to thank my “maids” for being a part of this special day! They all looked stylish, and each robe brought out their individual personalities. We had such a great time in these robes taking candid pictures, with our amazing photographers, that we almost forgot to get ready for the wedding! I know each bridesmaid will cherish their robe for years to come, as I know I will… One of my fondest memories of the day is getting ready with my girls in our robes together. It was such a beautiful day!

David and I were married at TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton, New Jersey on May 18th, 2013. I had seven bridesmaids, and I knew that I wanted to find them comfortable and beautiful robes to wear while we were getting ready. I discovered Doie Lounge and Sara through the Style Me Pretty blog, and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to go with the Elena robes for my bridesmaids. Our wedding colors were green, white, and gray, so the colors were perfect. I loved them so much that I ordered a white one for myself! The fabric was so soft, and the inside tie makes sure your robe stays where it belongs! Sara answered my questions quickly, and it was a pleasure to work with her.

Gray Expectations

“I married my high school sweetheart on September 2nd in Chicago, but I was already thinking about gifts for my bridesmaids way back in the spring.  I contacted Sara about sizing and she was extremely helpful (and it turns out choosing the sizes wasn’t complicated at all).  Our wedding colors were white and gray, so it was easy for me to choose the Elena for my bridesmaids (and the Lillian for myself!).  I was really pleasantly surprised by how soft the robes are.  Like all brides, I can only hope my bridesmaids will want to wear their dresses again, but I feel confident that they’ll wear their robes again!”

{Seize The Gray}

It seems as if one of this Fall’s hottest wedding colors is not even considered a color by some. Gray used to be seen as a lackluster neutral, but is now the pinnacle of glamour in today’s modern wedding.

 Gray adds the elegance of black but with out the darkness and many brides are choosing to accent the “goes-with-everything” color with pops of more traditional wedding colors such as pink and white.

I first noticed this trend when sales of our gray robes, such as the Elena and Cosette, began to increase due to the fact that the brides wanted their bridesmaid gifts to match their wedding colors. Upon further discussion, most brides revealed that they feel gray is a color that flatters almost anyone due to it’s neutral nature and it also has a slimming effect, just like black. Choosing gray for bridesmaids robes is basically a “no fail” option even for brides who didn’t care if their bridesmaid gifts matched their wedding colors.

There is really no denying the elegant nature of gray—it has an “Old Hollywood” glamorous feel and its toned down nature is enchanting without being too glitzy. I love these photos of brides who wanted their wedding parties to “seize the gray!”

Pre-Wedding Pampering

“We had a Japanese-themed wedding and the robes fit our theme perfectly!  My bridesmaids and I loved the robes because they were super comfy and soft.  None of us had ever been pampered before, so it was so much fun getting our hair and makeup done that day while wearing our matching robes and drinking wine.  When I first saw our wedding video, I was so glad that I made the decision to purchase the robes because they looked so much better than sweats and a t-shirt! “

“Throughout our entire wedding planning and prep process, we tried to keep everything as calm and fun as possible (all while managing everything during only an 8 month engagement!). The morning of the wedding was no different! Spending the morning in our extremely comfortable and very chic robes let us relax and just have an amazingly FUN time hanging out and getting ready. It was like a real party! Now we’ll have the robes to remember all the fun we had that morning for years to come!”

“I was married on Feburary 24, 2013 in Charleston, SC at the beautiful William Aiken House. The day couldn’t have been more perfect! We had decided that we only wanted to have our sisters in our wedding party. Mine being the matron of honor and his the best woman. I knew I wanted robes as gifts for us including our mothers. The robes not only make the getting ready photos nice, but are also a great gift you will actually use. The doie robes were exactly the look and quality I wanted. I love that when I use it now it takes me back to that day.”
