Finding The Right One

Mike and I were married at the Liberty House in Jersey City, NJ on April 6, 2013.   Our venue was right on the water and had the most spectacular views of Manhattan.  We were married outside with the city as our back scape; it was the ideal spring day.  Our entire wedding weekend was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

My bridesmaids gifts were definitely something that I put a lot of thought into.  My girls mean the world to me and have always gone above and beyond, not just during the wedding process.  I wanted their thank you gifts to be ones that were truly special and something that really showed how much I value and appreciate them in my life.  I always knew I wanted robes to be a part of the gift, it was just a matter of finding the “right” ones.  When I came across Doie Lounge robes, not only were the pictures gorgeous, but every one of the reviews were nothing but fantastic.  I was sold.  To top it off, working with Sara was effortless and enjoyable – she was responsive, so accommodating and helpful and simply, just pleasant!

And of course, the robes…those spoke for themselves! Everyone LOVED LOVED LOVEDDD the robes!!!  They were all so happy to not have to worry about what to wear while getting ready and also to have such an incredible new robe they could wear after the wedding!  They all couldn’t get over how soft and comfy and pretty they are!  Of course, I was very impressed and pleased as well.  It is now a staple in my wardrobe and even came along with me on our honeymoon!  The number of compliments I have received on the robes are countless (even based on pictures alone).  I continue to recommend Sara to everyone I meet (bride or not)!  Thank you so so much for everything!!

“The Doie Robes were the absolute perfect compliment to my wedding day – so soft, so comfortable and the perfect attire for a day of pampering and champagne. My bridesmaids adored them, and I for one have been living in mine ever since. I never was one to travel with a robe, but my Doie robe is so soft and special, it even made it into my backpack to Africa. Thank you Sara and Doie!”

I had a small wedding party, just a maid and matron of honor, and I wanted to make them each a great “goodie bag”.  I am so thankful I came across Doie Lounge in my gift search.  I immediately loved the classy designs and beautiful colors (light aqua is my FAVORITE, so I just had to have it), and decided to immediately purchase a robe for each of my girls and myself.  I was glad to find something that wasn’t the “standard” monogrammed terry or waffle.  It was so nice to have something beautiful and comfortable to wear while we were lounging, drinking champagne, and getting ready on my wedding day.  My girls loved them and both commented that the design and weight was ideal and they were pumped to be taking them home.  Personally, I wear mine every day while getting ready.  Also, after seeing the great New Mom pics on the Doie website, I will be be sure to bring my beautiful robe with me to hospital room when we have babies!

Sara was great to work with and kept in touch throughout the whole process.  One of my ordered items was temporarily out of stock, and she immediately contacted me to see if I wanted to change items.  I had plenty of time before my wedding, so waiting was not an issue, but I definitely appreciated that she checked in.  While the tag suggests dry cleaning, I have had success machine washing and lying flat to dry, which makes it very convenient.

“I wish that I had known about Sara Kirsner and her Doie Lounge robes from the moment I became engaged … it would have saved me months and months of agonizing over the perfect bridesmaids gifts. I was seeking just the right token for my favorite girls that I said “I appreciate you. I cherish you. I love you.” I wanted something that the girls could use for many years to come.  Sara’s robes were just that perfect gift. What was even more perfect was that I had no trouble selecting the colors as the the “elena” and “cosette” matched the wedding color scheme perfectly.  When I received the robes in the mail, in their lovely garment bags, I was delighted with the quality and luxury of the fabrics. These robes are so incredibly soft and cozy.

Geoff and I were married on the day that the first ice storm of 2013 decided to show up.  December 8, 2013, in Fairfax, VA. I was fortunate enough to have all of my five bridesmaids beside me all day as we prepared for the wedding.  The girls were presented with robes at our rehearsal dinner and they all arrived the day of the wedding, in their robes, ready for a morning of pampering and relaxation.

Sara was a dream to work with.  I was lucky to have reached out to her well in advance as the robes I was interested in were on back order … I certainly understand why they are so popular.  Sara got in touch with me immediately after placing my order to assure me that I would have my robes in plenty of time for our special day. When I received the order, Sara followed up with me regularly to make certain I was satisfied.  I was more than satisfied.  They were exquisite.

The robes photographed beautifully. I could not have been more pleased with the final product.  I wear my robe every morning and have gotten so many compliments from my bridesmaids who still enjoy wearing the robes.

Bridesmaids and Bridesman

Ben & I got married on the night before Thanksgiving, November 21, 2012. The weather was perfection and my bridal party were so excited to receive their beautiful Luella robes. Even better, my oldest guy friend, a bridesman, received a “scarf” of the Luella trim to match us. Although he preferred to wear it as a head scarf, I was so thrilled that Sara was able to accommodate my requests to allow my entire bridal party (bridesman included) to feel so special and match each other. I enjoyed wearing my Lilian robe as I got ready to marry my high school sweetheart and on our romantic honeymoon in Costa Rica.

“I got married on October 6, 2012 at the crossings in carlsbad, ca. I wanted to get my bridesmaids something special and something they could use after the wedding, and these robes were perfect! They were so soft, comfortable, and flattering on everyone!  While we were hanging out eating and getting our hair and make up done, we also got some great memorable photos. That time I got to spend with all of my closest friends really helped keep me calm before walking down the aisle. And now I have a keepsake that I can actually use from my wedding day! I highly recommend the doie lounge robes, you and your bridesmaids will love them!”

“We all got ready at the Ritz in downtown Philly, it was really fun to be with all my favorite ladies for my last morning as a single girl (and no one else could have kept me calm like they did). The wedding was so great and the girls and moms all loved their robes!”

{Seize The Gray}

It seems as if one of this Fall’s hottest wedding colors is not even considered a color by some. Gray used to be seen as a lackluster neutral, but is now the pinnacle of glamour in today’s modern wedding.

 Gray adds the elegance of black but with out the darkness and many brides are choosing to accent the “goes-with-everything” color with pops of more traditional wedding colors such as pink and white.

I first noticed this trend when sales of our gray robes, such as the Elena and Cosette, began to increase due to the fact that the brides wanted their bridesmaid gifts to match their wedding colors. Upon further discussion, most brides revealed that they feel gray is a color that flatters almost anyone due to it’s neutral nature and it also has a slimming effect, just like black. Choosing gray for bridesmaids robes is basically a “no fail” option even for brides who didn’t care if their bridesmaid gifts matched their wedding colors.

There is really no denying the elegant nature of gray—it has an “Old Hollywood” glamorous feel and its toned down nature is enchanting without being too glitzy. I love these photos of brides who wanted their wedding parties to “seize the gray!”
