Brooke & Bridesmaid in Doie Lounge Robes

Andrew and I were married on 9.13.14 at Church of the Sacred Heart in Trenton, NJ. Our wedding reception was at Jasna Polana in Princeton.  One of the gifts that I had gotten my girls as part of their gift were the beautifully luxurious Doie Lounge robes. They were the perfect getting ready item (many of the girls were asking the day before what they should wear to get ready), as many of us were up late the night before enjoying the post rehearsal dinner festivities into the early hours of the morning. My wedding colors were gray and lavender, so the gray robes for the girls were an excellent choice. I loved my white robe so much, I even took it on my honeymoon! Sara was amazing to work with throughout the ordering process, and always readily available to answer any questions. I will definitely be recommending these robes to all my friends and future brides to be

“The Doie Robes were the absolute perfect compliment to my wedding day – so soft, so comfortable and the perfect attire for a day of pampering and champagne. My bridesmaids adored them, and I for one have been living in mine ever since. I never was one to travel with a robe, but my Doie robe is so soft and special, it even made it into my backpack to Africa. Thank you Sara and Doie!”

I had a small wedding party, just a maid and matron of honor, and I wanted to make them each a great “goodie bag”.  I am so thankful I came across Doie Lounge in my gift search.  I immediately loved the classy designs and beautiful colors (light aqua is my FAVORITE, so I just had to have it), and decided to immediately purchase a robe for each of my girls and myself.  I was glad to find something that wasn’t the “standard” monogrammed terry or waffle.  It was so nice to have something beautiful and comfortable to wear while we were lounging, drinking champagne, and getting ready on my wedding day.  My girls loved them and both commented that the design and weight was ideal and they were pumped to be taking them home.  Personally, I wear mine every day while getting ready.  Also, after seeing the great New Mom pics on the Doie website, I will be be sure to bring my beautiful robe with me to hospital room when we have babies!

Sara was great to work with and kept in touch throughout the whole process.  One of my ordered items was temporarily out of stock, and she immediately contacted me to see if I wanted to change items.  I had plenty of time before my wedding, so waiting was not an issue, but I definitely appreciated that she checked in.  While the tag suggests dry cleaning, I have had success machine washing and lying flat to dry, which makes it very convenient.

Ice Day For a Wedding

“I wish that I had known about Sara Kirsner and her Doie Lounge robes from the moment I became engaged … it would have saved me months and months of agonizing over the perfect bridesmaids gifts. I was seeking just the right token for my favorite girls that I said “I appreciate you. I cherish you. I love you.” I wanted something that the girls could use for many years to come.  Sara’s robes were just that perfect gift. What was even more perfect was that I had no trouble selecting the colors as the the “elena” and “cosette” matched the wedding color scheme perfectly.  When I received the robes in the mail, in their lovely garment bags, I was delighted with the quality and luxury of the fabrics. These robes are so incredibly soft and cozy.

Geoff and I were married on the day that the first ice storm of 2013 decided to show up.  December 8, 2013, in Fairfax, VA. I was fortunate enough to have all of my five bridesmaids beside me all day as we prepared for the wedding.  The girls were presented with robes at our rehearsal dinner and they all arrived the day of the wedding, in their robes, ready for a morning of pampering and relaxation.

Sara was a dream to work with.  I was lucky to have reached out to her well in advance as the robes I was interested in were on back order … I certainly understand why they are so popular.  Sara got in touch with me immediately after placing my order to assure me that I would have my robes in plenty of time for our special day. When I received the order, Sara followed up with me regularly to make certain I was satisfied.  I was more than satisfied.  They were exquisite.

The robes photographed beautifully. I could not have been more pleased with the final product.  I wear my robe every morning and have gotten so many compliments from my bridesmaids who still enjoy wearing the robes.

{Birth Of A Bridesmaid Robe} An LA Story

Oh blogging how I’ve missed you! I’ve just returned from my monthly trip to Los Angeles, where I checked in on all of the people who make Doie Lounge robes a reality. While I am the designer, I do not actually cut and sew the robes myself– that is done by Rubin and the cutters in his downtown LA shop. The robes are then transported to Glendale (about 10 miles away) to be sewn by the talented Christina and her sewers.

{Rubin}

This process is usually pretty seamless (no pun intended). I meet with Rubin to take inventory of which fabrics we have in stock I and let him know what to cut (based on pre-orders and just general stock numbers), he cuts it and sends it over to Christina. However, sometimes a bride requests something custom– like a pink trim on a white robe or another combo not offered on the site. On this particular trip, aside from cutting more robes for “wedding season,” we also talked about a new color combo in light blue!

{Laying down fabric to be cut}

I also met with our pattern makers over at “Fashion With Passion” and made some slight adjustments to the robe pattern. I have been working with them ever since I moved the company to LA in 2008. At that time I was still doing Doie Designs and I had two full collections to design, per year.

I love working with my team and I’m continually impressed by their knowledge and dedication. It’s always very satisfying to watch the process and then see the end result– happy brides on their big day!

Ben & I got married on the night before Thanksgiving, November 21, 2012. The weather was perfection and my bridal party were so excited to receive their beautiful Luella robes. Even better, my oldest guy friend, a bridesman, received a “scarf” of the Luella trim to match us. Although he preferred to wear it as a head scarf, I was so thrilled that Sara was able to accommodate my requests to allow my entire bridal party (bridesman included) to feel so special and match each other. I enjoyed wearing my Lilian robe as I got ready to marry my high school sweetheart and on our romantic honeymoon in Costa Rica.

“Rob and I were married in Longview Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS on June 8th, 2013. I had five absolutely wonderful bridesmaids that mean the world to me. I wanted to get them something fun and unique. I found the robes through pintrest and absolutely loved them. I wanted something they weren’t expecting, could use again and that would remind them of time we shared. We spent all morning lounging in our matching robes, getting our hair and make up done. Everyone looked so cute and was so comfy. My bridesmaids and my husband love them!!! I would recommend them to any bride.”

“We all got ready at the Ritz in downtown Philly, it was really fun to be with all my favorite ladies for my last morning as a single girl (and no one else could have kept me calm like they did). The wedding was so great and the girls and moms all loved their robes!”

A Cozy Classic

“I was married on September 22, 2012 in Long Island, NY, the first official day of fall and I knew it would be starting to get a little cooler so I wanted to find something simple, classic and cozy to find for my bridesmaids to wear while we were getting ready and relaxing. I came across these robes on the Style Me Pretty blog last year and they were the first wedding related purchase I made! The robes were backordered but when I emailed Sara, she responded immediately and informed me of the date the robes would be shipped and they showed up right on time…they matched my color scheme and looked great on everyone. I was hoping that the girls would be able to wear them in their everyday life and was so happy when I saw the robe on my maid of honors bathroom door when I visited her new apartment! They are the perfect gift!”

“The robes were FANTASTIC! My bridesmaids loved them and they were so comfortable — and cute!! One of my bridesmaids was 8 months pregnant and said, ‘This robe is definitely coming to the hospital with me when I deliver!’ I have also recommended Doie robes to anyone and everyone I know who is getting married. All of my bridesmaids agreed they were the best BM gift they had gotten! I can’t thank {Sara}enough for such a wonderful experience and such a great, memorable gifts. I know my bridesmaids felt so appreciated and it was a great touch on my special day. Thanks for an awesome experience!!”
